Fundraising
With the level of government funding in Oregon and Portland, fundraising is an absolute must for quality education. Alameda parents value their children's education greatly and make a pointed effort to raise funds to augment that education. Listed are some of the ways to help.
Other events that directly or indirectly raise funds for the school include...

The driving forces behind these projects ...
- The Alameda School Foundation is a group of parents committed to raising funds for staff funding at Alameda. One-third of the money raised for staff funding (beyond the first $10,000) goes to the Portland Schools Foundation Equity Fund grant program for PPS schools seeking to close the achievement gap.
- The Alameda PTA raises funds to support its many programs and charitable community giving. The gift wrap sale, T-shirt sale, school photograph and yearbook sales, used book sale, and other events as well as membership dues fund programs such as Reading Friends, Reading Challenge, Family Math and Science Night, the Science Fair, and others. The PTA also contributes to the physical education, library, and music programs, makes annual gifts to teachers for classroom materials and resources, and makes gifts to special projects such as the Guard program and 5th grade social.
Occasionally, the PTA raises funds for facility improvement including painting, renovations, and playground equipment removal and replacement.
