What is the Alameda PTA? Why, you of course!
Your individual membership fee of $20 underwrites the dozens of programs and events the Alameda PTA presents each year and the state and national chapters’ lobbying efforts. Your membership and volunteer time makes it all happen.

The Alameda PTA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization run by parent volunteers. We are affiliated with both the Oregon PTA and the national PTA.

• PTA Programs in our school:

Green Team, Chess Club, Reading Challenge, Reading Friends, Family Math & Science Night, Science Fair, Writer Celebrations, Grandparents’ Day, family social nights, Staff Appreciation Week, Safety Patrol, facility and grounds improvement and maintenance and much more!

• PTA Programs in our community:

Clothing Drive & Volunteer Staffing for the Clothing Center – a place for Portland Public School children, in financial need, to obtain new and gently used clothing for free; Legislative Advocacy; Food Drive.
• PTA Lobby Efforts:

The Oregon PTA is 20,000 strong and the National PTA is 6 million strong! Your membership puts a voice and powerful numbers behind the lobbying efforts for education funding, wellness programs and reform.

• Alameda PTA Meetings
  • General Membership Meetings – 7 pm in the Library the first Wednesday of the following months: October (Alameda 101), November, February, April, May and June. All are welcome and free childcare is available.
  • Alameda PTA Executive Board Meetings – 6 pm in the Library the first Wednesday of every month except January.
